Daily Daily Café
“It’s a simple concept, executed damn well.”
- Harriet Johnstone, The Denizen
Owner Albert Yen wanted to create a calm respite in the hustle and bustle of Daily Daily's gritty K Rd location. In particular, he wanted to capture the quietness of Japanese cafes, where he told HOME magazine, “once the door is closed, you feel like you’re away from everything.” And when space is at a premium it needs to be used effectively to create a sense of calm for its patrons. Designer Brad Balle engaged us to design a large communal table that can be split in two, a window seat cleverly separated from the entrance by a partition wall, and an outdoor table from which to watch the world go by.
